Q: What grade are you in?
A: 12th
Q: What town do you live in, and which school do you attend?
A: I live in Albert Lea and attend Albert Lea High School.
Q: Who is your immediate family?
A: My mom and my brothers Dylan and Eli.
Q: Which sports do you play?
A: Swimming and track and field
Q: What is your favorite part of playing your sport?
A: Being able to set goals for myself and work hard at accomplishing them. The feeling of seeing a time you’ve wanted all season can’t be matched. I also love to be a part of something bigger than myself like my team. I strive to contribute not just athletically but to set an example for my team that lasts years to come.
Q: What has playing that sport taught you?
A: Swimming has taught me everything I know about self discipline. It is a very demanding sport so practicing mental toughness is extremely important. These lessons I’ve learned through swimming have not only helped me in my sports but also self motivation in school and life as well.
Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?
A: True Team sections this year has been by far my favorite sports memory. I placed second overall in our TT section in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 freestyle, as well as placing with both of my relay teams. The mood was up that day and everybody had a lot of fun.
Q: How did you get started in your sport?
A: I started Tigersharks in early elementary school and stuck with it ever since.
Q: What sports did your family members play?
A: I believe my mom played softball for a brief amount of time and my dad played basketball and football.
Q: What are your sports-
related achievements?
A: Placing second and third in our True Team Section, awarded “hardest worker” by my track team twice, placing with my 4×8 relay team in sections this past track season, and placing with my 4×1 relay team at sections each swim year since my freshman year.
Q: What are your sports-related goals?
A: I want to swim at state this year and place top 2 in our section. I also want to make it back to the podium with my 4×800 relay this upcoming track season.
Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete? Why?
A: Reagan Smith. She is an incredible backstroker and hearing her talk about her races in interviews shows just how humble she is about her performances.
Q: What are your college plans? Major?
A: I am undecided on a college currently but plan to major in biochemistry. I will also be swimming!
Q: What is your favorite school subject?
A: Biology and science classes in general.
Q: Who is your favorite teacher?
A: My favorite teacher that I’ve had is Mrs. Kiesler. I had her for biology my sophomore year and AP Biology my junior year.
Q: What are your hobbies?
A: I like to swim and see my friends!
Q: What is your dream job?
A: A clinical pathologist
Q: What is your favorite TV show?
A: “The Kardashians!”
Q: What is an interesting fact about you?
A: I can do repeated back handsprings in the water.
