Recap: The Tigers went a full five sets against Big Nine foe Rochester Mayo Thursday night, falling 3-2 in the end.
There were no individual stats from the matchup, but it’s clear Albert Lea has made some significant strides in the progress of the program.
The Tigers will compete in a tournament in Apple Valley over the weekend before closing out the regular season at home against Mankato West Tuesday night.
Alden-Conger

Recap: The Knights continue to dominate their way through the regular season with a straight sets win over Martin County West Tuesday night. Individual stats from the contest were unavailable as of press time, but the sets ended as 25-16, 25-17, 25-23 all in favor of the Knights.
The win marks the fourth consecutive non-tournament victory for Alden-Conger as the end of the season nears. The Knights look to be a formidable opponent in the postseason with just one of their three losses coming outside of tournament play, and of their 19 wins, the Knights have lost just four sets.
Alden-Conger will take part in a tournament in Goodhue Saturday before returning home for matches on Monday and Tuesday to end the regular season.
United South Central
Overall record: 12-11

Up next: At home against Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Tuesday night
Recap: While the results from Friday night’s matchup with Hayfield was unknown as of press time, the Rebels’ last known result was a win against Blooming Prairie Tuesday night.
The win marked the first after a three-match losing skid that brought the Rebels’ record back to .500.
Madison Passer had double digit kills on the night with 10, while Chloe Bullerman had nine. Karly Koehler had an astounding 20 digs to lead the team and Eleny Korn finished with 27 assists.
United South Central will have just one more regular season match on the schedule after Friday and it should be a highly contested battle as they take on the 11-10 Bulldogs of Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton Tuesday night.
NRHEG

Recap: The Panthers came into Tuesday’s matchup with Kenyon-Wanamingo looking for a bounce-back win, but instead came out with a 3-0 loss.
No Panthers had double digit kills, but they were led by Camryn VanMaldeghem who had six. Gabby Schlaak led the team in digs with 11, while Addy Stadheim was close behind with eight. Stadheim also led the team in assists with 16.
NRHEG has two more chances to jump up in the standings before the section tournament begins. They host Maple River Monday night before hitting the road to cap off the regular season against Randolph Tuesday night.
Glenville-Emmons

Recap: It’s been a season of struggles for the Wolverines as they are still hoping to get in the win column before the end of the season.

The Wolverines have one more opportunity to get that win in the regular season when they travel to Riceville, Iowa Saturday for a regular season ending tournament.
Lake Mills

Recap: The Bulldogs have had a rough past few outings, with their most recent match ending in a 3-0 loss to conference rival Forest City.
The loss marked the third-straight for the Bulldogs and they have just a few opportunities left to right the ship before the start of the postseason.
Tuesday night they travel to take on Hampton-Dumont as well as North Butler and Nashua-Plainfield in a quadrangular to get right before they face off with Belmond-Klemme in the first round of the postseason on Oct. 23.
Northwood-Kensett

Recap: Time is running out for the Vikings to get their first win of the season after falling to Osage Tuesday night at home. No individual stats were available from the game.
They have just three matches remaining in the regular season starting with a road test against North Iowa Tuesday night. Their first match of the postseason comes Oct. 21 when they play Nashua-Plainfield on the road.
